The Department of Health (DH) this (February 6) morning said another woman and three children who had taken a "homemade" herbal pill purportedly prescribed by a Chinese medicine practitioner in Tin Shui Wai, Yuen Long, were admitted into hospital for treatment of lead intoxication.
DH received reports on blood tests of the woman and three children last (February 5) night. The reports showed high blood lead level and the four had been admitted into hospital same night.
The blood tests were part of the investigations into a report associated with "Bao Ning Dan" purportedly prescribed by Mr Wong Kim-ping who practises Chinese medicine in Kingswood Richly Plaza, Tin Shui Wai, Yuen Long.
Seventy-six telephone calls were received by DH Hotline 2961 8883 up to 11 am today (February 6). Of the 76, 25 persons had been referred to DH's Regional Offices for lead screening.
