Dengue fever update

The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health is investigating an imported case of dengue fever today (August 17) and urged people to guard against the disease.

Case details are as follow:

Age: 28
Sex: Female
District of Residence: Tsim Sha Tsui
Date of Onset: August 10
Symptoms: Fever, dry cough and headache
Present Condition: She was admitted to Union Hospital on August 14. Now in stable condition
Travel History: The patient traveled to Malaysia from July 27 to 28 and to Indonesia from August 2 to 5 .

It is essential that people stay alert to the threat of dengue fever and help in the reduction of mosquito breeding.
