Chinese Medicine Practitioners Licensing Examination opens for application

The following is issued on behalf of the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong:
The Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board of the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong announced today (October 31) that the 2004 Chinese Medicine Practitioner Licensing Examination is open for application from November 11, 2003 to December 20, 2003 .
According to the Chinese Medicine Ordinance (Cap. 549 of the Laws of Hong Kong), other than listed Chinese medicine practitioners who are required by the Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board to undertake the Licensing Examination, any person who wishes to apply for registration as a registered Chinese medicine practitioner must first undertake and pass the Licensing Examination. A person is eligible to undertake the Licensing Examination if he has satisfactorily completed an undergraduate degree training course in Chinese medicine practice as is approved by the Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board.
Listed Chinese medicine practitioners who wish to undertake the 2004 Licensing Examination need not apply now. The Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board will separately notify them of the date and other details.
Besides, persons who have passed the written examination of the 2003 Licensing Examination should submit the enrolment forms for sitting the 2004 Licensing Examination – Part II Clinical Examination on or before March 31, 2004.
Application forms and Candidates' Handbook for the 2004 Chinese Medicine Practitioner Licensing Examination are now available at the Secretariat of the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong on 37/F Wu Chung House, 213 Queen's Road East, Wanchai, Hong Kong. The handbook can also be obtained by fax at the telephone enquiry hotline (2574 9999) of the Department of Health.
The 2004 Licensing Examination consists of Part I Written Examination and Part II Clinical Examination. The written examination will be held in May or June 2004, and the clinical examination will be held in July to August 2004.
