e-Licensing is an electronic platform for operators of private healthcare facilities to apply licences under the Private Healthcare Facilities Ordiance (Cap. 633). Currently, operators of private hospitals can submit applications for hospital licence through e-Licensing. Private hospital can also submit data under the This link will open in a new windowPilot Programme for Enhancing Price Transparency for Private Hospitals to the Department of Health through the e-Licensing.

The functions for applying day procedure centre licences and clinic licences will be available nearer the time.

Pilot Programme for Enhancing Price Transparency for Private Hospitals


  • The Government together with the Hong Kong Private Hospitals Association rolled out a pilot programme for enhancing price transparency for private hospitals. This pilot programme is not a registration requirement under the Hospitals, Nursing Homes and Maternity Homes Registration Ordinance (Cap.165).
