Chart title: Chart A: Activity Status of Occupational Therapists Covered Of the 1 608 occupational therapists covered, 925 (57.5%) responded to the survey, while the remaining 683 (42.5%) did not respond. Among the respondents, 865 (93.5%) were active in the local occupational therapy profession as at 31.3.2014 whereas 60 (6.5%) reported to be inactive in the local occupational therapy profession. Among the 865 active occupational therapists, 859 (99.3%) were practising in the local occupational therapy profession, two (0.2%) (a) were not practising in the occupational therapy profession in Hong Kong during the survey period; (b) had been available for work during the seven days before the survey; and (c) had sought work in the local occupational therapy profession during the 30 days before the survey, and the remaining four (0.5%) (a) were not practising in the occupational therapy profession in Hong Kong during the survey period; (b) had been available for work during the seven days before the survey; and (c) were waiting to take up a new job in the local occupational therapy profession or having temporary sickness during the 30 days before the survey. Of the 60 inactive occupational therapists, 42 (70.0%) reported not practising in the occupational therapy profession in Hong Kong and not seeking job in the local occupational therapy profession during the 30 days before the survey, ten (16.7%) reported practising overseas, seven (11.7%) reported practising in the Mainland and the remaining one (1.7%) (a) was not practising in the occupational therapy profession in Hong Kong during the survey period; (b) had not been available for work during the seven days before the survey; and (c) had sought work in the occupational therapy profession during the 30 days before the survey. Of the 42 inactive occupational therapists, 24 (57.1%) were working in other professions, 11 (26.2%) were engaged in household duties, three (7.1%) were retired and the remaining four (9.5%)* had other reasons for being inactive.
