Chart title: Activity Status of Listed Chinese Medicine Pracitioners Covered

Of the 2 702 listed Chinese medicine pracitioners covered, 434 (16.1%) responded to the survey, while the remaining 2 268 (83.9%) did not respond.  Among the respondents, 336 (77.4%) were active in the local Chinese medicine profession whereas 98 (22.6%) reported to be inactive in the local Chinese medicine profession.

Among the 336 active listed Chinese medicine pracitioners, 328 (97.6%) were practising in the local Chinese medicine profession, five (1.5%) had not been available for work because of temporary sickness, two (0.6%) (a) were not practising in the Chinese medicine profession in Hong Kong during the survey period; (b) had been available for work during the seven days before the survey; and (c) had sought work in the Chinese medicine profession during the 30 days before the survey, and one (0.3%) (a) was not practising in the Chinese medicine profession in Hong Kong during the survey period; (b) had been available for work during the seven days before the survey; and (c) believed that work was not available in the local Chinese medicine profession during the 30 days before the survey.

Of the 98 inactive listed Chinese medicine pracitioners, six (6.1%) reported practising in the Mainland, six (6.1%) reported practising overseas and 86 (87.8%) reported not practising in the Chinese medicine profession in Hong Kong and not seeking job in the Chinese medicine profession during the 30 days before the survey.

Of the 86 inactive listed Chinese medicine pracitioners, 35 (40.7%) were retired, 30 (34.9%) were working in other professions, six (7.0%) wanted to take rest / had no motive to work / had no financial need and three (3.5%) were engaged in household duties and the remaining 12 (14.0%) had reported undertaking study, emigrated, etc.
