Their sex ratio was 53 male active occupational therapists enumerated per 100 female active occupational therapists enumerated. Their mean age was 27.8. Among the 141 active occupational therapists enumerated, 94(66.7%) worked in the Government, 23(16.3%) worked in the private sector and 24(17.0%) worked in the academic & subvented sectors. In the 1987 Health Manpower Survey, statistics on the number of occupational therapists covered was not available. 234 active occupational therapists were enumerated. 75 were male and 159 were female. Their sex ratio was 47 male active occupational therapists enumerated per 100 female active occupational therapists enumerated. Their mean age was 28.0. Among the 234 active occupational therapists enumerated, 125(53.4%) worked in the Government, 2(0.9%) worked in the private sector and 107(45.7%) worked in the academic & subvented sectors. In the 1990 Health Manpower Survey, statistics on the number of occupational therapists covered was not available. 300 active occupational therapists were enumerated. 100 were male and 200 were female. Their sex ratio was 50 male active occupational therapists enumerated per 100 female active occupational therapists enumerated. Their mean age was 29.2. Among the 300 active occupational therapists enumerated, 149(49.7%) worked in the Government, 11(3.7%) worked in the private sector and 140(46.6) worked in the academic & subvented sectors. In the 1992 Health Manpower Survey, 470 occupational therapists covered and 362 active occupational therapists were enumerated. 133 were male and 229 were female. Their sex ratio was 58 male active occupational therapists enumerated per 100 female active occupational therapists enumerated. Their mean age was 28.6. Among the 362 active occupational therapists enumerated, 8(2.2%) worked in the Government, 214(59.1%) worked in the Hospital Authority, 19(5.2%) worked in the private sector and 121(33.5%) worked in the academic & subvented sectors. In the 1996 Health Manpower Survey, 674 occupational therapists covered and 490 active occupational therapists were enumerated. 166 were male and 324 were female. Their sex ratio was 51 male active occupational therapists enumerated per 100 female active occupational therapists enumerated. Their mean age was 29.8. Among the 490 active occupational therapists enumerated, 17(3.5%) worked in the Government, 349(71.2%) worked in the Hospital Authority, 31(6.3%) worked in the private sector and 93(19.0%) worked in the academic & subvented sectors. In the 2000 Health Manpower Survey, 774 occupational therapists covered and 648 active occupational therapists were enumerated. 214 were male and 434 were female. Their sex ratio was 49 male active occupational therapists enumerated per 100 female active occupational therapists enumerated. Their mean age was 32.0. Their median age was 32.0. Among the 648 active occupational therapists enumerated, 27(4.2%) worked in the Government, 395(61.0%) worked in the Hospital Authority, 103(15.97%) worked in the private sector and 123(19.0%) worked in the academic & subvented sectors. In the 2004 Health Manpower Survey, 1 056 occupational therapists covered and 666 active occupational therapists were enumerated. 211 were male and 455 were female. Their sex ratio was 46 male active occupational therapists enumerated per 100 female active occupational therapists enumerated. Their mean age was 33.8. Their median age was 33.0. Among the 666 active occupational therapists enumerated, 28(4.2%) worked in the Government, 361(54.2%) worked in the Hospital Authority, 31(4.7%) worked in the private sector, 244(36.6%) worked in the academic & subvented sectors and two(0.3%) did not reveal their sector of work. In the 2005 Health Manpower Survey, 1 120 occupational therapists covered and 738 active occupational therapists were enumerated. Four of the occupational therapists did not indicate their sex. Of the remaining 734 active occupational therapists, 231 were male and 503 were female. Their sex ratio was 46 male active occupational therapists enumerated per 100 female active occupational therapists enumerated. Their mean age was 32.9. Their median age was 32.0. Among the 738 active occupational therapists enumerated, 25(3.4%) worked in the Government, 358(48.5%) worked in the Hospital Authority, 45(6.1%) worked in the private sector, 309(41.9%) worked in the academic & subvented sectors and one(0.1%) did not reveal the sector of work. In the 2006 Health Manpower Survey, 1 168 occupational therapists covered and 796 active occupational therapists were enumerated. 237 were male and 559 were female. Their sex ratio was 42 male active occupational therapists enumerated per 100 female active occupational therapists enumerated. Their mean age was 34.1. Their median age was 34.0. Among the 796 active occupational therapists enumerated, 28(3.5%) worked in the Government, 367(46.1%) worked in the Hospital Authority, 75(9.4%) worked in the private sector, 317(39.8%) worked in the academic & subvented sectors and nine(1.1%) did not reveal the sector of work. In the 2007 Health Manpower Survey, 1 213 occupational therapists covered and 681 active occupational therapists were enumerated. One occupational therapist did not indicate the sex. Of the remaining 680 active occupational therapists, 193 were male and 487 were female. Their sex ratio was 40 male active occupational therapists enumerated per 100 female active occupational therapists enumerated. Their mean age was 34.5. Their median age was 34.0. Among the 681 active occupational therapists enumerated, 17(2.5%) worked in the Government, 327(48.0%) worked in the Hospital Authority, 58(8.5%) worked in the private sector and 279(41.0%) worked in the academic & subvented sectors. In the 2008 Health Manpower Survey, 1 255 occupational therapists covered and 656 active occupational therapists were enumerated. Of the 656 active occupational therapists, 198 were male and 458 were female. Their sex ratio was 43 male active occupational therapists enumerated per 100 female active occupational therapists enumerated. Their mean age was 34.9. Their median age was 34.0. Among the 656 active occupational therapists enumerated, 17(2.6%) worked in the Government, 297(45.3%) worked in the Hospital Authority, 50(7.6%) worked in the private sector and 292(44.5%) worked in the academic & subvented sectors. In the 2011 Health Manpower Survey, 1 395 occupational therapists covered and 876 active occupational therapists were enumerated. Six occupational therapists did not indicate the sex. Of the remaining 870 active occupational therapists, 259 were male and 611 were female. Their sex ratio was 42 male active occupational therapists enumerated per 100 female active occupational therapists enumerated. Their mean age was 36.7. Their median age was 36.0. Among the 876 active occupational therapists enumerated, 33(3.8%) worked in the Government, 422(48.2%) worked in the Hospital Authority, 75(8.6%) worked in the private sector, 344(39.3%) worked in the academic & subvented sectors and two(0.2%) did not reveal the sector of work. Figures of the year 2000 and before refer to the number of occupational therapists registered with the Occupational Therapists Board of Hong Kong as at the 1st of July of the respective years, whereas the figures of 2004 to 2011 refer to that as at the 31st of March of the respective years. 2.
