The sex ratio was 81 male enumerated per 100 females. Of the 62 audiologists enumerated, 54.8% were employed by the private sector, followed by (27.4%) employed by the Hospital Authority, (11.3%) by the Government and (6.5%) by the subvented sector. A total of 50 audiology technicians were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2009. The sex ratio was 250 male enumerated per 100 females. Of the 50 audiology technicians enumerated, 70.0% were employed by the private sector, followed by (18.0%) employed by the Hospital Authority, (6.0%) by the Government and (3.0%) by the subvented sector. A total of 40 chiropodists / podiatrists were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2009. The sex ratio was 111 male enumerated per 100 females. Of the 40 chiropodists / podiatrists enumerated, 50.0% were employed by the Hospital Authority, followed by (42.5%) employed by the private sector and (7.5%) by the subvented sector. A total of 403 clinical psychologists were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2009. The sex ratio was 28 male enumerated per 100 females. Of the 403 clinical psychologists enumerated, 34.5% were employed by the private sector, followed by (26.1%) employed by the Government, (22.8%) by the Hospital Authority, (10.2%) by the subvented sector and (6.5%) by the academic sector. A total of 190 dental hygienists were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2009. The sex ratio was 10 male enumerated per 100 females. Of the 190 dental hygienists enumerated, 86.8% were employed by the private sector, followed by (7.4%) employed by the academic sector and (5.8%) by the Government. A total of 2 847 dental surgery assistants were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2009. The sex ratio was 3 male enumerated per 100 females. Of the 2 847 dental surgery assistants enumerated, 85.5% were employed by the private sector, followed by (9.2%) employed by the Government, (4.4%) by the academic sector, (0.6%) by the subvented sector and (0.2%) by the Hospital Authority. A total of 318 dental technicians / technologists were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2009. The sex ratio was 340 male enumerated per 100 females. Of the 318 dental technicians / technologists enumerated, 74.8% were employed by the private sector, followed by (14.8%) employed by the Government, (9.7%) by the academic sector and (0.6%) by the Hospital Authority. A total of 296 dental therapists were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2009. The sex ratio was 13 male enumerated per 100 females. Of the 296 dental therapists, all of them were employed by the Government. A total of 312 dietitians were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2009. The sex ratio was 32 male enumerated per 100 females. Of the 312 dietitians enumerated, 66.3% were employed by the private sector, followed by (23.7%) employed by the Hospital Authority, (4.5%) by the Government, (4.2%) by the subvented sector and (1.3%) by the academic sector. A total of 1 961 dispensers were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2009. The sex ratio was 68 male enumerated per 100 females. Of the 1 961 dispensers enumerated, 47.6% were employed by the private sector, followed by (46.8%) employed by the Hospital Authority, (2.9%) by the Government, (2.3%) by the subvented sector and (0.4%) by the academic sector. A total of 153 educational psychologists were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2009. The sex ratio was 34 male enumerated per 100 females. Of the 153 educational psychologists enumerated, 30.7% were employed by the subvented sector, followed by (24.8%) employed by the private sector, (23.5%) by the Government and (20.9%) by the academic sector. A total of 34 mould laboratory technicians were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2009. The sex ratio was 580 male enumerated per 100 females. Of the 34 mould laboratory technicians enumerated, 70.6% were employed by the Hospital Authority, followed by (29.4%) employed by the private sector. A total of 30 orthoptists were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2009. The sex ratio was 88 male enumerated per 100 females. Of the 30 orthoptists enumerated, 46.7% were employed by the private sector, followed by (40.0%) employed by the Hospital Authority and (13.3%) by the Government. A total of 129 prosthetists / orthotists were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2009. The sex ratio was 416 male enumerated per 100 females. Of the 129 prosthetists / orthotists enumerated, 69.8% were employed by the Hospital Authority, followed by (25.6%) employed by the private sector, (2.3%) by the academic sector and (2.3%) by the subvented sector. A total of 172 scientific officers (medical) were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2009. The sex ratio was 118 male enumerated per 100 females. Of the 172 scientific officers (medical) enumerated, 39.0% were employed by the Government, followed by (25.6%) employed in the Hospital Authority, (25.6%) by the private sector and (9.9%) by the academic sector. A total of 506 speech therapists were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2009. The sex ratio was 10 male enumerated per 100 females. Of the 506 speech therapists enumerated, 42.3% were employed by the subvented sector, followed by (34.0%) employed by the private sector, (11.3%) by the Hospital Authority, (8.7%) by the academic sector and (3.8%) by the Government.
