Chart B: Distribution of Specialist Registration Reported Among Active Local Doctors Of the 4640 active local doctors enumerated, 3128 (67.4%) reported being registered as specialists in the Specialist Register of the Medical Council of Hong Kong, and 327 (7.0%) reported receiving specialist training. Among the 3128 registered specialists, 769 (24.6%) were in the specialty of internal medicine, 367 (11.7%) were in surgery, 288 (9.2%) were in paediatrics, 236 (7.5%) were in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, 230 (7.4%) were in Family Medicine, 190 (6.1%) were in Anaesthesiology, 180 (5.8%) were in Orthopaedic Surgery, 165 (5.3%) were in Radiology, 156 (5.0%) were in Psychiatry, 146 (4.7%) were in Ophthalmology, 142 (4.5%) were in Emergency Medicine, 107 (3.4%) were in Pathology, 78 (2.5%) were in Otorhinolaryngology, 65 (2.1%) were in Community Medicine and nine (0.3%) were in unknown specialty.
