Clinical Genetic Service

The Clinical Genetic Service provides comprehensive genetic services in Hong Kong with a primary role in genetic diagnosis, counselling and prevention.

The CGS specialist outpatient clinics (.i.e. Genetic Counselling Clinic and Genetic Screening Clinic), Genetic Laboratory, and administration office has been relocated to Hong Kong Children’s Hospital located at 1 Shing Cheong Road, Kowloon Bay. For enquiries, please contact 3513 6505 for matters related to Genetic Screening Clinic or 2725 3773 for matters related to Genetic Counselling Clinic.

3. Referral system

Patients or families are seen by appointment. A doctor's referral is necessary. Patients with a doctor’s referral can make appointment in person at 1/F, Tower B, Hong Kong Children's Hospital, 1 Shing Cheong Road, Kowloon Bay, Kowloon for Genetic Counselling Clinic, Clinical Genetic Service, Department of Health. If patients have difficulty in making appointment in person, please call our enquiry number (Tel: 2725 3773) to make special arrangement.

For private patients, government servants (or Hospital Authority staff) and their dependants, appointments can be made in person at the L-Block Clinic, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kowloon.  Enquiry No.: 3506 6123
