In the 2005 Health Manpower Survey, the number of registered Chinese medicine practioners covered was 5 012, the number of Chinese medicine practioners with limited registration covered was 58 and the number of listed Chinese medicine practioners covered was 2 988.

In the 2008 Health Manpower Survey, the number of registered Chinese medicine practioners covered was 5 554, the number of Chinese medicine practioners with limited registration covered was 88 and the number of listed Chinese medicine practioners covered was 2 843.

In the 2011 Health Manpower Survey, the number of registered Chinese medicine practioners covered was 6 243, the number of Chinese medicine practioners with limited registration covered was 71 and the number of listed Chinese medicine practioners covered was 2 763.

Figures refer to Chinese medicine practitioners registered with the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong or entered on the list of listed Chinese medicine practitioners maintained by the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong under the Chinese Medicine Ordinance (Chapter 549) as at 31st August of the respective years.
