Of the 1 884 active registered Chinese medicine practitioners enumerated, 47.5% did not receive any additional training, 29.7% received / were receiving one field of additional training, 7.2% received / were receiving two fields of additional training, 4.3% received / were receiving three fields of additional training, 2.9% received / were receiving four fields of additional training, 7.6% received / were receiving five or more fields of additional training, 1.0% did not reveal the number of field of additional training.

Among those registered Chinese medicine practitioners who were trained in one field of additional training, 42.8% were trained in Chinese medicine (general practice), followed by 20.9% in acupuncture and moxibustion of Chinese medicine, 9.7% in orthopaedics and traumatology of Chinese medicine, 5.4% in integration of Chinese-Western medicine, 5.2% in internal medicine of Chinese medicine and 16.1% in others.
