Health Education

The Central Health Education Unit was established in January 1978. Throughout these years, the Unit has undergone changes in structure and functions. With redefinition of the roles of the Department of Health in 2002, the Unit now adopts a key position in harnessing social political support and mobilising community participation and personal actions to achieve desired health goals.

Our staff have a range of expertise including: Medicine, Nursing, Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Education and Health Promotion, Research and Evaluation, Executive support, Information Technology, Dietetics, Community Development, Procurement, Translation, Graphic Design and Media and Marketing.

* Develop, monitor and review a strategy for promoting health in Hong Kong
* Coordinate and strengthen cohesiveness of actions across the health promoting community
* Build, collect and disseminate evidence for good practices in health promotion
* Develop and enhance workforce capacity

* Involve the community in all aspects of health promotion
