Title: Table A : Number of Healthcare Personnel Enumerated by Sector as at 31.3.2019 Audiologists A total of 87 audiologists (79 full-time and eight part-time) were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2019. Of the 87 audiologists enumerated, 47 (40 full-time and seven part-time) (54.0%) were employed by the private sector, 26 (25 full-time and one part-time) (29.9%) by the Hospital Authority, nine (nine full-time) (10.3%) by the Government and five (five full-time) (5.7%) by the subvented sector. Audiology Technicians A total of 43 audiology technicians (40 full-time and three part-time) were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2019. Of the 43 audiology technicians enumerated, 36 (33 full-time and three part-time) (83.7%) were employed by the private sector, five (five full-time) (11.6%) by the Hospital Authority and two (two full-time) (4.7%) by the subvented sector. Chiropodists / Podiatrists A total of 68 chiropodists / podiatrists (56 full-time and 12 part-time) were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2019. Of the 68 chiropodists / podiatrists enumerated, 53 (49 full-time and four part-time) (77.9%) were employed by the Hospital Authority, 12 (seven full-time and five part-time) (17.6%) by the private sector and three (three part-time) (4.4%) by the subvented sector. Clinical Psychologists A total of 515 clinical psychologists (430 full-time and 85 part-time) were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2019. Of the 515 clinical psychologists enumerated, 182 (174 full-time and eight part-time) (35.3%) were employed by the Hospital Authority, 141 (141 full-time) (27.4%) by the Government, 84 (61 full-time and 23 part-time) (16.3%) by the subvented sector, 80 (36 full-time and 44 part-time) (15.5%) by the private sector and 28 (18 full-time and ten part-time) (5.4%) by the academic sector. Dental Hygienists A total of 271 dental hygienists (172 full-time and 99 part-time) were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2019. Of the 271 dental hygienists enumerated, 250 (153 full-time and 97 part-time) (92.3%) were employed by the private sector, 12 (12 full-time) (4.4%) by the Government and nine (seven full-time and two part-time) (3.3%) by the academic sector. Dental Surgery Assistants A total of 2 806 dental surgery assistants (2 419 full-time and 387 part-time) were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2019. Of the 2 806 dental surgery assistants enumerated, 2 227 (1 857 full-time and 370 part-time) (79.4%) were employed by the private sector, 344 (344 full-time) (12.3%) by the Government, 174 (166 full-time and eight part-time) (6.2%) by the academic sector, 51 (42 full-time and nine part-time) (1.8%) by the subvented sector and ten (ten full-time) (0.4%) by the Hospital Authority. Dental Technicians / Technologists A total of 182 dental technicians / technologists (170 full-time and 12 part-time) were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2019. Of the 182 dental technicians / technologists enumerated, 108 (96 full-time and 12 part-time) (59.3%) were employed by the private sector, 46 (46 full-time) (25.3%) by the Government, 25 (25 full-time) (13.7%) by the academic sector and three (three full-time) (1.6%) by the Hospital Authority. Dental Therapists A total of 238 dental therapists (237 full-time and one part-time) were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2019. Of the 238 dental therapists enumerated, all of them were employed by the Government. Dietitians A total of 366 dietitians (291 full-time and 75 part-time) were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2019. Of the 366 dietitians enumerated, 184 (163 full-time and 21 part-time) (50.3%) were employed by the Hospital Authority, 130 (90 full-time and 40 part-time) (35.5%) by the private sector, 27 (15 full-time and 12 part-time) (7.4%) by the subverted sector, 20 (20 full-time) (5.5%) by the Government and five (three full-time and two part-time) (1.4%) by the academic sector. Dispensers A total of 2 232 dispensers (2 158 full-time and 74 part-time) were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2019. Of the 2 232 dispensers enumerated, 1 369 (1 366 full-time and three part-time) (61.3%) were employed by the Hospital Authority, 726 (661 full-time and 65 part-time) (32.5%) by the private sector, 79 (79 full-time) (3.5%) by the Government, 49 (43 full-time and six part-time) (2.2%) by the subvented sector and nine (nine full-time) (0.4%) by the academic sector. Educational Psychologists A total of 250 educational psychologists (179 full-time and 71 part-time) were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2019. Of the 250 educational psychologists enumerated, 85 (80 full-time and five part-time) (34.0%) were employed by the Government, 68 (43 full-time and 25 part-time) (27.2%) by the subvented sector, 55 (31 full-time and 24 part-time) (22.0%) by the academic sector and 42 (25 full-time and 17 part-time) (16.8%) by the private sector. Mould Laboratory Technicians A total of 52 mould laboratory technicians (50 full-time and two part-time) were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2019. Of the 52 mould laboratory technicians enumerated, 30 (28 full-time and two part-time) (57.7%) were employed by the private sector, and the remaining 22 (22 full-time) (42.3%) were employed by the Hospital Authority. Orthoptists A total of 20 orthoptists (18 full-time and two part-time) were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2019. Of the 20 orthoptists enumerated, 16 (14 full-time and two part-time) (80.0%) were employed by the Hospital Authority, the Government (two full-time) (10.0%) and the private sector (two full-time) (10.0%) each employed two orthoptists. Prosthetists / Orthotists A total of 170 prosthetists / orthotists (168 full-time and two part-time) were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2019. Of the 170 prosthetists / orthotists enumerated, 151 (151 full-time) (88.8%) were employed by the Hospital Authority, 15 (13 full-time and two part-time) (8.8%) by the private sector, the academic sector (two full-time) (1.2%) and the subvented sector (two full-time) (1.2%) each employed two prosthetists / orthotists. Scientific Officers (Medical) A total of 238 scientific officers (medical) (236 full-time and two part-time) were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2019. Of the 238 scientific officers (medical) enumerated, 136 (136 full-time) (57.1%) were employed by the Government, 67 (67 full-time) (28.2%) by the Hospital Authority, 34 (32 full-time and two part-time) (14.3%) by the academic sector and one (one full-time) (0.4%) by the private sector. Speech Therapists A total of 835 speech therapists (706 full-time and 129 part-time) were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2019. Of the 835 speech therapists enumerated, 429 (380 full-time and 49 part-time) (51.4%) were employed by the subvented sector, 176 (137 full-time and 39 part-time) (21.1%) by the private sector, 123 (115 full-time and eight part-time) (14.7%) by the Hospital Authority, 80 (47 full-time and 33 part-time) (9.6%) by the academic sector and 27 (27 full-time) (3.2%) by the Government.
