The sex ratio was 72 male enumerated per 100 females and the median age was 39.7. Of the 93 audiologists enumerated as at 31.3.2014, 57 (61.3%) were employed by the private sector, followed by 24 (25.8%) employed by the Hospital Authority, seven (7.5%) by the Government and five (5.4%) by the subvented sector. A total of 31 audiology technicians were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2014. The sex ratio was 417 male enumerated per 100 females and the median age was 36.5. Of the 31 audiology technicians enumerated as at 31.3.2014, 23 (74.2%) were employed by the private sector, followed by six (19.4%) employed by the Hospital Authority and two (6.5%) by the subvented sector. A total of 63 chiropodists / podiatrists were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2014. The sex ratio was 66 male enumerated per 100 females and the median age was 38.3. Of the 63 chiropodists / podiatrists enumerated as at 31.3.2014, 36 (57.1%) were employed by the Hospital Authority, followed by 25 (39.7%) employed by the private sector and two (3.2%) employed by the subvented sector. A total of 515 clinical psychologists were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2014. The sex ratio was 25 male enumerated per 100 females and the median age was 40.2. A total of 332 dental hygienists were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2014. The sex ratio was 3 male enumerated per 100 females and the median age was 30.6. Of the 332 dental hygienists enumerated as at 31.3.2014, 305 (91.9%) were employed by the private sector, followed by 18 (5.4%) employed by the academic sector and nine (2.7%) by the Government. A total of 3 727 dental surgery assistants were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2014. The sex ratio was 3 male enumerated per 100 females and the median age was 31.8. Of the 3 727 dental surgery assistants enumerated as at 31.3.2014, 3 220 (86.4%) were employed by the private sector, followed by 309 (8.3%) employed by the Government, 142 (3.8%) by the academic sector, 46 (1.2%) by the subvented sector and ten (0.3%) by the Hospital Authority. A total of 354 dental technicians / technologists were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2014. The sex ratio was 185 male enumerated per 100 females and the median age was 41.6. Of the 354 dental technicians / technologists enumerated as at 31.3.2014, 274 (77.4%) were employed by the private sector, followed by 47 (13.3%) employed by the Government, 30 (8.5%) by the academic sector and three (0.8%) by the Hospital Authority. A total of 284 dental therapists were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2014. The sex ratio was 14 male enumerated per 100 females and the median age was 46.3. Of the 284 dental therapists enumerated as at 31.3.2014, all of them were employed by the Government. A total of 387 dietitians were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2014. The sex ratio was 19 male enumerated per 100 females and the median age was 34.0. Of the 387 dietitians enumerated as at 31.3.2014, 209 (54.0%) were employed by the private sector, followed by 135 (34.9%) employed by the Hospital Authority, 23 (5.9%) by the subvented sector, 17 (4.4%) by the Government and three (0.8%) by the academic sector. A total of 2 201 dispensers were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2014. The sex ratio was 69 male enumerated per 100 females and the median age was 38.7. Of the 2 201 dispensers enumerated as at 31.3.2014, 1 130 (51.3%) were employed by the Hospital Authority, followed by 921 (41.8%) employed by the private sector, 84 (3.8%) by the subvented sector, 60 (2.7%) by the Government and six (0.3%) by the academic sector. A total of 246 educational psychologists were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2014. The sex ratio was 37 male enumerated per 100 females and the median age was 36.7. Of the 246 educational psychologists enumerated as at 31.3.2014, 70 (28.5%) were employed by the academic sector, followed by 66 (26.8%) employed by the private sector, 63 (25.6%) by the subvented sector and 47 (19.1%) by the Government. A total of 46 mould laboratory technicians were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2014. The sex ratio was 207 male enumerated per 100 females and the median age was 46.1. Of the 46 mould laboratory technicians enumerated as at 31.3.2014, 26 (56.5%) were employed by the Hospital Authority and the remaining 20 (43.5%) employed by the private sector. A total of 59 orthoptists were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2014. The sex ratio was 181 male enumerated per 100 females and the median age was 45.4. Of the 59 orthoptists enumerated as at 31.3.2014, 42 (71.2%) were employed by the private sector, followed by 15 (25.4%) employed in the Hospital Authority and two (3.4%) by the Government. A total of 165 prosthetists / orthotists were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2014. The sex ratio was 302 male enumerated per 100 females and the median age was 39.4. Of the 165 prosthetists / orthotists enumerated as at 31.3.2014, 126 (76.4%) were employed by the Hospital Authority, followed by 36 (21.8%) employed by the private sector, two (1.2%) by the academic sector and one (0.6%) by the subvented sector. A total of 224 scientific officers (medical) were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2014. The sex ratio was 111 male enumerated per 100 females and the median age was 41.1. Of the 224 scientific officers (medical) enumerated as at 31.3.2014, 110 (49.1%) were employed by the Government, followed by 58 (25.9%) employed by the Hospital Authority and 28 (12.5%) employed by the private sector and the academic sector. A total of 641 speech therapists were employed by the covered institutions as at 31.3.2014. The sex ratio was 15 male enumerated per 100 females and the median age was 32.1. Of the 641 speech therapists enumerated as at 31.3.2014, 259 (40.4%) were employed by the subvented sector, followed by 227 (35.4%) employed by the private sector, 82 (12.8%) by the Hospital Authority, 51 (8.0%) by the academic sector and 22 (3.4%) by the Government.
