The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health received a report of influenza-like illness (ILI) outbreaks in one school affecting three persons during the 24 hours ending at noon today (September 29).
Reports about hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) outbreaks involving eight persons in three schools were received during the same period.
The above brought to 51 and 71 the cumulative totals of ILI and HFMD outbreak reports respectively since the start of the new school term in September.
Schools should refer to the guidelines on prevention of communicable diseases for practical information on measures to prevent common communicable diseases. More information is available on the CHP website at www.chp.gov.hk .
