CHP follows up on local dengue fever case

The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health today (September 23) continues its investigation in Deep Water Bay following the confirmation of a locally acquired dengue fever case involving a 46-year-old man.

All households within the 200m of the patient's residence were covered. Information from 49 persons were successfully obtained by either questionnaires or interviews. No residents reported active symptoms during CHP's investigation.

Blood samples from 23 persons (including the patient's domestic helper) were taken for laboratory analysis. Specimen of the domestic helper was tested negative. Other test results were pending.

CHP's hotline, 2125 1122, has received a total of six enquiries since its operation yesterday. The hotline will continue to operate from 9am to 5pm tomorrow.
