A spokesman for the Department of Health said reports about two enterovirus 71 infections and two hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) institutional outbreaks were received during the 24 hours ending at noon today (July 22).
This brings to 78 and 586 the cumulative total numbers of laboratory confirmed EV71 infections and HFMD institutional outbreaks in 2010 respectively.
The new school and institutional outbreaks were in Eastern District and Kowloon City.
One school is closed due to an HFMD outbreak.
