A spokesman for the Department of Health said reports about four hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) institutional outbreaks were received during the 24 hours ending at noon today (July 15). No new report of enterovirus 71 infection was received during the period.
This brings to 572 and 73 respectively the cumulative total numbers of HFMD institutional outbreaks and laboratory confirmed EV71 infections in 2010.
The new school outbreaks were in Kowloon City, Kwai Tsing and Yuen Long.
One school is closed due to an HFMD outbreak.
