Press Release

Blanket recall of products manufactured by Quality Pharmaceutical Lab Ltd

10 May 2010

In response to media enquiries, a spokesman for the Department of Health (DH) said the department today (May 10) held further talks with Quality Pharmaceutical Laboratory (QPL) Ltd on the recall of all QPL products from the market for quality defect reasons.

The spokesman said that before QPL was to commence the blanket recall, it had to discuss its recall plan with DH as a matter of procedure. Having gained DH's endorsement, QPL is to announce details of its recall plan later on today, in particular the list of sites for product return.

"Meanwhile, QPL is required to conduct an internal investigation to find out the deficiencies in its manufacturing process which had led to the quality defects, with a view to making remedies to the satisfaction of the DH before it is allowed to come back," the spokesman said.
