Press Release

Mainland-bound passengers need not fill in health declaration forms

27 Apr 2010

The Department of Health (DH) of the HKSAR Government was informed by the State General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine that passengers entering the Mainland would not be required to fill in Health Declaration Forms (HDF) starting from April 28, 2010.

In view of the new arrangement, DH's Port Health Office would stop distributing HDFs at the boundary control points to travelers departing Hong Kong for the Mainland.

Passengers entering Hong Kong have not been required to fill in HDFs at the Hong Kong International Airport and boundary control points since December 21, 2009.

DH will continue to conduct temperature screening for all incoming passengers at the airport and boundary control points.

Health messages on prevention of human swine influenza (HSI) will also be displayed and broadcast.

Members of the public are reminded to strictly observe personal and environmental hygiene while in Hong Kong and during travels to prevent HSI infection.
