Statistics on human swine influenza vaccinations

At least 1,360 doses of human swine influenza (HSI) vaccine were administered to target groups at Hospital Authority (HA), Department of Health (DH) and private clinics as well as residential care homes between 1pm on February 26 and 1pm today (March 1).

Of this number, 202 were administered at HA and DH clinics while the eHealth System received 146 and 1,012 vaccination reimbursement claims from private doctors and medical officers visiting residential care homes respectively. It is expected that some additional vaccinations given will be recorded in the eHealth System later.

The administered doses comprised 99 for community-living elderly aged 65 or above, 66 for people under 65 years with chronic illnesses, two for pregnant women, 33 for healthcare workers, 178 for children aged between six months and less than six years and 982 for residents of residential care homes.

The cumulative total of HSI jabs administered to target groups since the start of the vaccination programme on December 21, 2009, is now at least 180,107.

A DH spokesman said the release of daily statistics on HSI vaccinations will be transferred to the website of the department's Centre for Health Protection at http://www.chp.gov.hk/en/view_content/19266.html from tomorrow (March 2).
