Statistics on human swine influenza vaccinations

At least 746 doses of human swine influenza (HSI) vaccine were administered to target groups at Hospital Authority (HA), Department of Health (DH) and private clinics as well as residential care homes between 1pm on February 12 and 1pm today (February 17).

Of this number, 174 were administered at HA and DH clinics while the eHealth System received 77 and 495 vaccination reimbursement claims from private doctors and visiting medical officers to residential care homes respectively. It is expected that some additional vaccinations given will be recorded in the eHealth System later.

The administered doses comprised 83 for community-living elderly aged 65 or above, 58 for persons under 65 years with chronic illnesses, four for a pregnant woman, 28 for healthcare workers, 99 for children aged between six months and less than six years, and 474 for residents of residential care homes.

The cumulative total of HSI jabs administered to target groups since the start of the vaccination programme on December 21, 2009, is now at least 174,478.
