Statistics on human swine influenza vaccinations

At least 2,914 doses of human swine influenza (HSI) vaccine were administered to target groups at Hospital Authority (HA), Department of Health (DH) and private clinics as well as residential care homes between 1pm on February 5 and 1pm today (February 8).

Of this number, 537 were administered at HA and DH clinics while the eHealth System received 556 and 1,821 vaccination reimbursement claims from private doctors and visiting medical officers to residential care homes respectively. It is expected that some additional vaccinations given will be recorded in the eHealth System later.

The administered doses comprised 264 for community-living elderly aged 65 or above, 180 for persons under 65 years with chronic illnesses, four for pregnant women, 106 for healthcare workers, 613 for children aged between six months and less than six years, one for pig farmers and slaughterhouse workers, and 1,746 for residents of residential care homes.

The cumulative total of HSI jabs administered to target groups since the start of the vaccination programme on December 21, 2009 is now at least 167,875.
