At least 11,378 doses of human swine influenza (HSI) vaccine were administered at Hospital Authority (HA), Department of Health (DH) and private clinics during the 24 hours ending 1pm today (December 29).
Among them, 8,660 were inoculated at HA and DH clinics while the eHealth System received 2,718 vaccination reimbursement claims from private doctors. It is expected that some additional vaccinations already given by private doctors will be recorded in the eHealth System later.
The administered doses comprised 6,146 jabs for community living elderly aged 65 or above; 2,401 for persons under 65 years with chronic illness; 110 for pregnant women; 1,027 for healthcare workers; 1,610 for children aged between six months and less than six years; and 84 for pig farmers and slaughterhouse workers.
This brings to at least 43,675 the cumulative total of HSI jabs administered since the start of the vaccination programme on December 21.
No reports of serious adverse events with a history of vaccination, which may or may not be caused by the vaccination, were received.
