Press Release

Arriving passengers need not fill in health declaration forms

17 Dec 2009

The Government announced today (December 17) that incoming passengers would not be required to fill in Health Declaration Forms at the Hong Kong International Airport and boundary control points starting next Monday (December 21).

A government spokesman said the move took into consideration the spread of human swine influenza (HSI) around the world and in Hong Kong. "It is an opportune time to fine-tune Hong Kong's boundary prevention and control measures and redeploy resources," he said.

"The Department of Health (DH) will continue to conduct temperature screening for all incoming passengers at the airport and boundary control points. Health messages on HSI will also be posted and broadcast.

"Travellers can approach any DH staff at health posts at the airport or other control points for assistance if necessary," the spokesman said.

To facilitate travellers heading for Shenzhen, health declaration forms will continue to be distributed to travellers when they depart from Hong Kong.
