Press Release

HSI Telephone enquiry service during weekends to be adjusted

22 Oct 2009

The operation hours during Saturday, Sunday and public holidays of the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) telephone enquiry service (2125 1111) on human swine influenza (HSI) will be adjusted to 9am to 1pm from this Saturday (October 24) onwards.

The service hours for Monday to Friday will remain from 9am to 6pm.

Members of the public can leave their views and enquiries on the voicemail for staff to handle as soon as practicable.

A spokesman for the CHP said the adjustment was made after considering the recent decline in the number of calls received, particularly during weekends.

He added, "The CHP will continue to maintain vigilance and monitor the HSI situation. The public can learn more about the latest HSI situation by accessing a weekly update 'Swine and Seasonal Flu Monitor' from the CHP's website at www.chp.gov.hk ."

More than 22,800 enquiries have been handled since the telephone enquiry service started operation in April.
