Importer recalls peritoneal dialysis solution

A spokesman for the Department of Health said today (September 10) that Gambro Hong Kong Limited, a licensed importer of pharmaceutical products, recalled one batch of five-litre peritoneal dialysis solution (Gambrosol Trio 10 P.D. solution, Registration Number: HK-47327).

The concerned batch of product (batch number 694426), comprising 234 bags, were manufactured in Italy. Among them, 60 bags were supplied to a public hospital. All bags of the concerned batch have not yet been used on patients.

Based on information available so far, the recall was made because the importer was informed by the manufacturer that there was potential leakage of the solution.

The DH will closely monitor the recall.
