Press Release

Cancellation of Tender for Human Swine Influenza Vaccine

20 Aug 2009

The Department of Health (DH) announced today (August 20) that the tender for the supply of human swine influenza (HSI) vaccine is cancelled today because there was no offer which conformed to the essential requirements specified in the tender document at tender closing.

The DH spokesman said that DH will continue to procure HSI vaccine and is taking the next step in the procurement exercise in accordance with Stores and Procurement Regulations (SPR). Under SPR, DH can invite tenders including limited tender.

The HSI vaccine tender exercise was issued on July 17, 2009 and closed on August 7, 2009.

"DH is carrying out planning activities for the HSI vaccination programme targeted to commence by end of the year when vaccines become available. DH is closely monitoring the situation," the DH spokesman said.
