Forty-three new cases of human swine influenza

A spokesman for the Department of Health said there had been 43 newly confirmed cases of human swine influenza (Influenza A H1N1) in the 24 hours to 2.30pm today (July 1).

This brings to 828 the total number of human swine influenza cases in Hong Kong.

The new cases involve 24 males and 19 females, aged between five and 62 years old.

Meanwhile, the spokesman noted that operating hours of DH's hotline for human swine influenza 2125 1111 would be adjusted starting today.

"Staff operating the hotline is on duty daily from 9am to 6pm.

"Callers ringing up the hotline outside the duty hours may leave a message on the voice mailbox," the spokesman said.
