In accordance with the Hospitals, Nursing Homes and Maternity
Homes Registration Ordinance, any establishment for the
care of the sick, injured or infirm or those who require
medical treatment, or any premises used or intended to be
used for the reception of pregnant women or of women immediately
after childbirth should be registered with the Director
of Health before commencement of operation.
Medical clinics or any premises used for medical diagnosis
or treatment of persons suffering from any disease, injury
or disability of mind or body are also required to be registered
under the Medical Clinics Ordinance.
However, under Section 2 of the Medical Clinics Ordinance,
certain premises or medical practices are not
included as "clinic", and thus do
not require registration with the Director of Health.
Please refer to Section 2 of the Ordinance for details.
